“Listen with curiosity. Speak with honesty. Act with integrity. The greatest problem with communication is we don’t listen to understand. We listen to reply. When we listen with curiosity, we don’t listen with the intent to reply. We listen for what’s behind the words.” ― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

Pay attention! That is hard for our young people. In this class, we taught them the harmfulness of randomly blurting out their thoughts. They can speak their hearts out but they should learn to listen first.
Even the wise could become wiser by listening to these proverbs. They will gain understanding and learn to solve difficult problems. Proverbs 1:5
“You opinions about me does not change who I am.” ― Lailah Gifty Akita, Think Great: Be Great!
To be successful, you need to know who you are not just from the external or from the mirror, but from who you are in the inside. Our inside is what makes us strong. Our students learned about themselves doing the “Coat of Arms” activity. In their coat of arms, they describe their dreams, their favorite things, who they admired, what’s unique about themselves, their motto. In the middle of their coat of arm, they stick their very own photos – to say “This is Me. And I love who I am.”
I praise you because you made me in such a wonderful way. I know how amazing that was! Psalms 139:14

雅各书 James 1:2-5 Perseverance 忍耐
2 My brothers and sisters, you will have many kinds of trouble. But this gives you a reason to be very happy. 3 You know that when your faith is tested, you learn to be patient in suffering. 4 If you let that patience work in you, the end result will be good. You will be mature and complete. You will be all that God wants you to be. 5 Do any of you need wisdom? Ask God for it. He is generous and enjoys giving to everyone. So he will give you wisdom.
“It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed.” – Napolean Hill
In this class, we played the memory card game to foster teamwork, focus, and believe. We played it where one person try to find as many pairs as possible. Then we had the team to help him, showing the ease of success.
Beginning of the year. New students. New start. This week, we taught our students about Believe and Teamwork. We want our students to grow up having self-belief and learning to see themselves not just as individuals but part of a team community. With good beliefs and teamwork, success can easily be achieved. These two principles were taught using games and fun activities.

Inside Out Character Class: Teamwork and Creativity.
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” ― Albert Einstein
Our children are taught to think freely. Create! And work at your creation as a team. Creativity and teamwork, together, are powerful. This is what makes brilliant ideas work.
Activity: With two pieces of large paper and other simple materials, each team working together must design their most creative costume for their model. Each team has children of all ages. All the team members must work together. Teams are not allowed to rely on just a few. Older members must guide and assist the younger.
Our guest speaker, Mr. Richard Cheong, family life consultant, delivered the parenting workshop “Five Love Languages for Parenting.” Teaching us on how to love our children according to their own emotional love need.
